MILESTONE PROJECT MANAGEMENT PARTICIPATES IN PANEL DISCUSSION AT BISNOW HOUSTON'S HEALTHCARE SUMMIT
HOUSTON, TX (April 24, 2013) The 3rd annual Bisnow Houston Healthcare Summit covered the medical office boom and discussed delivering outpatient care to local neighborhoods. As stated by Bisnow, "Strategic use of real estate has become a tool for health systems to reach more patients, cut costs, and finance new projects through consolidation, all while improving quality of care."
Scott LaTulipe, President of Milestone Project Management, spoke about the latest healthcare project Milestone is working on, Memorial Hermann's Pearland Hospital. He advised healthcare groups to go "pale green" and "peppy cheap" in their buildings because users typically just go to the facilities that are closest or recommended by their insurance or primary care doctor, rather than seeking out the nicest. He also said it is wiser to invest dollars into service, not real estate. Scott said the next 18 months will be interesting for Houston healthcare; with the prospect of seeing the sector seriously boom.
